Have you heard–Empower Illinois and the Tax Credit Scholarship Program had its most successful year to date. In 2021, we awarded nearly 6,200 scholarships and raised more than $48 million through our primary initiative, the Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarship Program.
But that’s not all. We recently wrote, advocated for, and helped pass improvements to the Tax Credit Scholarship Program to better serve participating families and help more of the 26,000 kids on the waitlist get a scholarship.
Next year, we have even bigger plans to award more scholarships, provide more certainty to participating families and schools, and extend this life-changing program. Will you join us to reach these ambitious goals?
